Fees of the European Patent Office (EPO) change 1st April 2009

The new official fees apply to all European patent applications filed on or after 1st April 2009. The following fees are changed:

1. Claims fee
- 200 € for the 16th and each subsequent claim up to the limit of 50
- 500 € for the 51st and each subsequent claim

2. Additional fee for a European patent application comprising more than 35 pages
- 12 € for the 36th and each subsequent page
- to be paid when the application is filed

3. Fee for grant
- 790 € regardless of the length of the application

4. Designation fees
- one fee of 500 € covers all the EPC member states
- no reduction when designating a smaller number of member states
